- Acceptance and Acknowledgement
By accessing our website, subscribing to our free newsletter, creating a Member account, or purchasing a Membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
- Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use our Service, provide your email address, or create a Member account. Users under 13 are prohibited from subscribing to, accessing, or purchasing access to our content. We recommend parental guidance for users aged 13-17. Our Privacy Policy at www.alphabetguides.com/privacy contains additional age-related provisions that align with these requirements.
- Scope of Service
Our Service provides health and fitness Digital Content (for example: fitness guides, workout plans, meal plans, and other educational materials) through two access models:
- Free content: Available via our newsletter, in exchange for your email address.
- Paid Membership: Premium content available exclusively to paid Members via a recurring subscription, billed through Stripe and managed via our website (powered by Ghost).
We may also provide blog posts, newsletters, and promotional content to both free and paid users.
Important: All Membership transactions are made directly through our website. Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe via our website's native membership integration. By purchasing a Membership, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.
- Memberships and Payment
5.1 Membership Process
To purchase a paid Membership, you must:
- Create a Member account with a valid email address
- Provide valid payment information via Stripe's secure checkout
- Select a Membership tier and billing frequency
- Accept these Terms & Conditions
5.2 Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your complete payment card details; this information is held directly within Stripe. By purchasing a Membership, you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis according to your selected billing frequency until you cancel.
5.3 Recurring Billing
Memberships automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as selected) until you cancel. You will be charged the then-current price for your tier at each renewal unless we have notified you of a price change in advance.
5.4 Prices and Currency
All prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout. We may change Membership prices from time to time. If we increase the price of your tier, we will provide reasonable advance notice before the change takes effect on your next renewal; continuing your Membership after that point constitutes acceptance of the new price.
5.5 Account Confirmation
Upon successful payment, you will receive a confirmation email containing:
- Details of your Membership tier and billing frequency
- Access instructions for premium content
- Receipt for your records
5.6 Access to Premium Content
Premium Digital Content is made available to active Members through our website immediately upon successful payment. Access is tied to your Member account and is provided for as long as your Membership remains active and in good standing.
5.7 Failed and Late Payments
If a renewal payment fails, we (via Stripe) may attempt to retry the charge. If payment cannot be collected after a reasonable number of attempts, we reserve the right to suspend or downgrade your access to premium content until payment is resolved.
- Cancellations and Refunds
6.1 Cancelling Your Membership
You may cancel your Membership at any time via your Member account portal or by contacting hello@alphabetguides.com. Cancellation stops future recurring billing.
6.2 Effect of Cancellation
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, your access to premium content continues until the end of your current paid billing period, after which it will not renew. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a billing period, except as set out below or as required by law.
6.3 Refunds
Because premium content is accessed on an ongoing subscription basis, we generally do not offer refunds for billing periods already paid. We may offer refunds in exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Technical issues that materially prevented access to premium content
- Duplicate charges made in error
- Where required by applicable consumer protection law
6.4 Refund Requests
To request a refund, contact hello@alphabetguides.com within 14 days of the relevant charge with:
- Your account email address
- Date of the charge in question
- Reason for the refund request
6.5 Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days and returned to your original payment method via Stripe. Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.
6.6 Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including any statutory right to cancel a subscription contract within a cooling-off period under applicable consumer protection legislation. Please note that if you access or download premium content during a statutory cooling-off period, you may lose the right to cancel for a refund in respect of that period, where permitted by law; we will make this clear at the point of purchase where relevant.
- Free Newsletter and Account Management
7.1 Free Subscription
To receive our free newsletter, you may provide your email address via our website. By doing so, you will be clearly informed about what you are subscribing to before providing your email address.
7.2 Member Accounts
Whether you sign up for the free newsletter or a paid Membership, you may be asked to create a Member account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating your account
- Keep your account access secure (our Service uses passwordless, email-based sign-in)
- Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation
7.3 Consent and Communications
By subscribing or creating an account, you consent to receive:
- The free newsletter and/or premium content you have signed up for
- Transactional emails related to your account or Membership (e.g., billing receipts, renewal notices)
- Marketing communications about related content and promotions, only where you have given consent
We keep consent logs (including timestamp, IP address where applicable, and consent wording) to demonstrate compliance with data protection requirements.
7.4 Unsubscribe Policy
You may unsubscribe from the free newsletter at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting hello@alphabetguides.com. We process unsubscribe requests promptly. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not cancel an active paid Membership; these are managed separately (see Section 6).
Note: Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not prevent us from sending transactional emails related to your account or Membership.
7.5 List and Account Management
We reserve the right to remove free subscribers or suspend Member accounts that breach these terms or whose email addresses bounce repeatedly.
- Intellectual Property and Licence
8.1 Ownership
All content on our Service, including Digital Content, text, images, designs, workout plans, meal plans, and website design, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
